It’s fun to think of the days where you had to step out to become a customer or a product. Today we’re a customer and a product to social media companies as our eyes wake up to the day. Hard hitting news straight up nonchalantly enter our feeds and we scroll past after giving it a minute of our attention. What is important and what is not then? If every piece of content at the most deserves less than a minute of our attention? To what ends of our value are we giving to the world if at the end of it all, It will spark by a person’s awareness for less than a moment?
The quality of a product doesn’t just depend on the quality of its production but also on the attention the consumer gives it. As such, For the world to be filled with innovation and great products, The consumer’s attention is as much important as the producer’s.
So before we talk about becoming a great producer of value, We need to become great consumers. Our mind should only be flooded with the formations which lead to the production of the value we’re trying to generate. Anything else is nothing but waste of energy. A by-product of someone else making you their product. Mastering this requires Deliberate consumption.
It is now understood that production can’t be spoken about until consumption is addressed, Let’s address our goal. The goal is simple, We have great ideas spark by us multiple times everyday. We need to be able to sit with those thoughts alone for extended time with concentration, Distill and refine them, Do actions till they’re transformed from thought-stuff to value or discarded consciously.
The common issue when this is put into action is that non-related thoughts flash in and out of awareness during concentration periods, Creating unrelated desires or fears which in turn either stop the activity of concentration or just block the intelligence of the mind. Hence, Having a clear mind with only one intent during the pursuit of innovation is now more understood.
To Define: Production of value (In an individual) is a derivation of a clear mind with a high Remembrance ratio coupled with systems of Frictionless production.
We need to be able to sit with a problem on the solving of which, Creates value. This has to be done with with a clear mind which remembers most of the human pursuit towards the innovation in that field. In that act of concentration, unrelated thoughts should naturally not come or even if they do, They should not affect the act of concentration.
All knowledge that we have, either of the external or internal world, is obtained through only one method — by the concentration of the mind. No knowledge can be had of any science unless we can concentrate our minds upon the subject. - Swami Vivekananda
